Is Happy Names free?
Yes — swiping, favorites, and rankings are free. Partner pairing and unlimited Versus rounds are part of Happy Names Plus, a one-time purchase, not a subscription.
How does partner pairing work?
One of you shares an invite code, the other taps it. From then on you each swipe privately, and the app surfaces only the names you both liked. No peeking at each other's passes.
Where do the meanings and origins come from?
Our name library is curated by hand from etymological and statistical sources, with popularity rankings per country so you know how common a name really is where you live.
Can I filter by style, origin, or length?
Yes — set gender, origins, countries, and length once in Settings and every swipe session respects them.
Is it only for baby names?
People have used it for pets, boats, and one startup. We don't judge — a good name is a good name.
