These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Happy Names mobile application ("the App") operated by Happy Names ("we", "us", or "our"). By using the App, you agree to these Terms.
1. Using the App
Happy Names helps you discover and decide on baby names. You may use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes. You must be at least 16 years old to use the App.
2. Your Account
When you first open the App, an anonymous account is created automatically — no registration is required. Your account is tied to your device. If you delete the app or your data, your account cannot be recovered.
3. Pairing
You may connect with one partner at a time using a pairing code. When paired:
- Both partners can see each other's name preferences and rankings
- Either partner can unpair at any time from Settings
- Unpairing stops data sharing immediately but does not delete either partner's data
4. Content and Intellectual Property
The name catalog, descriptions, meanings, and all other content in the App are our property or used under license. You may not extract, copy, or redistribute the name database or any portion of it.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
- Attempt to access other users' data without authorization
- Use automated tools to scrape or interact with the App
- Use the App for any unlawful purpose
6. Availability and Changes
We strive to keep the App available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may update, modify, or discontinue features at any time. We will not be liable for any loss resulting from changes to or unavailability of the App.
7. In-App Purchases
The App may offer optional paid features. All purchases are processed through Apple's App Store or Google Play and are subject to their respective refund policies. We do not store your payment information.
8. Disclaimer of Warranties
The App is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not guarantee the accuracy or completeness of name meanings, popularity rankings, or other content.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the App (if any) in the 12 months preceding the claim.
10. Termination
You may stop using the App at any time. You may delete all your data from within the App's Settings. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access to the App if you violate these Terms.
11. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Germany, unless mandatory consumer protection laws of your country of residence provide otherwise.
12. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. We will notify you of significant changes via the App.
